DS and DW had their own logics

DS - Keep us in the prem. Had experience. Good at blooding youngester (gave Rowe his debut, got a tune out of Idah briefly). Also had experience getting out the championship but left with a demoralised and disjointed Farke era squad and he seemed uncommitted to the job.

DW - was a kneejerk and perhaps lazy appointment, but was mostly about rebuilding rapport with the fans. So the willingness to 'Ole!' with the crowd was high on the list of desired attributes. Also had some relevant experience (keeping a skint team in the prem). However, we can see why he has done little since.
