Wagner Out

Wagner is simply not up to it. Anyone with half a clue has known that for a long time. His appointment in the first place was bizarre.

Another bizarre team selection. How on earth can he keep selecting Hernandez. He offers absolutely nothing yet he starts him yet again.

Tactically he (and his coaching team) are totally inept. Same goal that we conceded tonight we have conceded countless times. Full backs push up when in possession so that we almost have a back 2, and then aren’t covered because we don’t play a defensive midfielder.

Tactics in possession don’t work. Centre mid drops deep regularly alongside the 2 centre backs when in possession to play long balls. Doesn’t work. If you lose possession as you invariably would do playing that type of pass, we lose the ball and don’t have enough physicality to win it back. Too much space between the lines makes it too easy for the opponent to regain control. You could go on. It doesn’t work.

The problems stem higher than the head coach unfortunately. It’s clear that Delia and MWJ don’t have a clue and need to go ASAP.

But in the short term, just get a competent head coach and team in. The players we have are better than being in the bottom half of the championship.
