He’s actually been good I think

So many of the chances we were giving away were down to the way we play out from the back, rather than particularly poor defending (although that’s a feature too sometimes).

McLean at CB helps us play out, and also means the receiving midfielder is Nunez, who is a little better at receiving the ball in a tight spot.

I still think CM is the main issue we have rather than defence. Watching Ipswich yesterday, they beat our press quite easily because their midfielders are comfortable on the ball in tight spaces. Like we were under farke.

A DCM would help us, but not a tettey style one that would be no good receiving the ball in a tight spot. That’s a critical part of being a deep midfielder in this day and age.

Can’t see us signing any new CBs in January, or strikers, we’ve got plenty of both. CMs on the other hand….
