As a resident of Sweden 🇸🇪 I don't see how this decision makes Sweden safer or more secure 🤔.
As far as I am aware, Finland 🇫🇮 has recently joined NATO. Norway 🇳🇴 is already a member of NATO. So in order to invade Sweden, Russia 🇷🇺 would have to launch a D Day style, amphibious invasion via the Baltic Sea. Sweden will see the Russian fleet coming and can sink them with submarines. By allowing the Americans access to their military bases Sweden is abandoning their long held neutral stance. In doing so, Russia will now almost certainly have some of their nuclear arsenal trained on Sweden. To say this move makes Sweden more secure is bulls**t.
