Called The Chedi. Hired a 4x4 and burnt out the clutch going up a down-only track, local kids all piled onto it to try to get traction as the wheels were all spinning. Closest I’ve ever felt to dying, we were skidding backwards down the road it was that steep. In the end a lovely driver in a big yellow Hino aggregates truck gave us a lift back to his house where the family made us drinks and he then took us back to the hotel in his truck. We gave him a few notes which he seemed amazed about.
Had 4 days there chilling and then about 5 at the ClubMed at Nusa Dua which although was very nice could’ve been anywhere.
Also I couldn’t leave without shouting out “Kuta Wars” on the beach at Kuta which was great, a bit touristy and yeah-like-I’ve been travelling on my gap year etc
Quite a few Aussies there who seemed to use it like we do the Med.
