Without that money we would be even more in the financial mire than we are currently are. They can try and dress it up anyway they want. That’s the stark reality.
As a board and a club in general we have become very good at making up excuses to fit the narrative after the event.
It’s like all this injury tripe about being down to the bare bones we keep getting fed to us as a reason for bad results and tactics. Injuries are part and parcel of football and we are no different to any club.
Whilst I’m ranting it also cracks me up how in the summer we were told we were singing older players because we needed to add experience and resilience, now we are being told the January window will be used to address the age profile of the squad! Just goes to show the muddled thinking that has and continues to go on at the top level of the club. Yet Delia could wait to tell us last night once again that Webber was amazing and the only person in the world as good is Knapper and we are so lucky to have him. Well how come the old messiah signed a load of old player and now the new messiah wants to address the age profile by signing young players… surely they can’t both be right given their polar opposite approach in this regard
