Looking at the squads of other teams in the bottom half....

starting with Watford, as we just played them, I'd say their's actually looks to be better than ours.

Yet their fans, going into the game against us, were of the view that they are the 20th worst side in the Championship. Clearly they are wrong as we are worse.

Reflecting on that further, my conclusion is that championship squads aren't really about having star players. You need a decent, well balanced, hard working group of players as the base line, and then if you have a good coach, you've got a great chance of playoffs, and if you have a couple of stars, you're in for auto.

We don't have the base line - we don't have a well balanced squad, and we don't seem to have a hard working (maybe that's not the right description, what I'm getting at is that appearance of players buzzing around the pitch, constantly moving, pressing, wanting the ball), group of players.

We've got some good individuals, but the balance of the squad is still off, as it obviously was last season. If Wagner has told Webber in the summer that CM was not a priority, he's a blithering idiot.
