As for Tzolis and Rashica, the problem is you don’t know how a player will turn out until they’re here and playing. Would anyone really know that Buendia and Stiepermann would be such a success while the other two were woeful? It depends on so much, not just ability, but settling into a new country, a new city, their partner or family settling, the coaching, their teammates, the speed of the English game etc etc. And also some luck, not exactly luck, but momentum. Every club has successful transfers and terrible ones, I don’t believe our record is worse than anyone else’s.

But yes, this lot appear to be mid-table standard at best.
