Well you need to play an extra midfielder in my view

Wagner seems to have decided that the way to do it is to pick the same team but stick 9 or 10 men behind the ball and not press them. Seems like schoolboy stuff to me.

As ever, being defensively solid is not just about the defence. We tended to defend better when Wes played as well because we kept/retained the ball better in midfield which takes pressure off the defence.
