I was going to post just this this morning

after coming across it via r/Norwich on Reddit. It's a model that can work but they will need serious numbers to make it work long term. The Manchester version has 40k subs of whom 2k pay and they make it work off those numbers.

But I think it's an excellent initiative and is far better than the shadow EDP/EEN have fallen into (basically reproducing press notes from estate agents, the police, whoever, verbatim; and trawling NRx FB groups for "news", because they don't have resource to do anything better, basically).

Local news is an incredibly hard gig in the UK because making the money work is so difficult. This is a new attempt to make something work round here and I think it's well worth supporting to see where it goes.
