So rather than talk to the people that in your eyes

have created the current mess it’s better to ignore them and possibly make the same or similar mistakes? Wouldn’t it make more sense to talk to them, learn from their mistakes, ask what lead them to those decisions etc etc. that way you are surely increasing the likelihood of making a better decision and can probably come to that decision quicker by being in a position of greater knowledge
