the second one is ledge. i put my own family through the small boat wringer in a storm down in florida keys one time and we all got a proper battering/drenching. when we got back to cudjoe key i told my good lady to chuck the line ashore to tie off as a feller was on the dock gesturing to help and she did and it wan't attached to the boat. 😐
