The poppy issue is something that I struggle with. I wear a poppy and do so gladly and gratefully. However this year I was tempted not to do so. Over the last few years, wearing the poppy has become politicised and (sorry for the crass connotations) weaponised. Those who are doing this are nothing short of despicable.
