I played the praticality card - any carpet we could fit in the suitcase would be too small to be of an use anywhere, and anything that was of any use would be too big to go home.

Didn't get any gold - was too hot and humid the night we went into town, and we were mindful of getting the last shuttle bus back to the hotel...which we missed.

We were looking at the accomodation for people wanting to stay out there - Jumeirah Beach residences etc. Very expensive - studio flats start at ?143,000 !
