Governance (or lack of) is the new catch phrase thrown around by people who don't fully

understand what it is. The level of required governance of an organisation lies on a spectrum. At one end is public bodies and charities which require strict governance at the other end are things tech startups that benefit from an almost hands off approach so as not to stifle innovation. Where does a privately owned football club sit? As long as legal obligations are met then what more is required?
