Well that's what would make the film bitter sweet. It's possible in my film there is

a group of boys who are out to seek revenge and are gleeful when this happens, but it's not what the main character wanted. She would walk away without looking back as this was not the way she wanted it to turn out.

She would then realise she has to find a way to move on. Things are not going to go back. Probably the final scene is her putting her favourite picture of him (the one with the wink) away in a box and placing it on the top shelf of a cupboard.
