Oh don't! Don't even joke about it! I've had this sick feeling about it since the fixtures

were announced.

If this were an American teen movie, I would be alone in my room, refusing to go to the Prom, as I couldn't bear to face him. (But then someone - my grandpa probably, all dressed up in his quaintly dated suit) would knock on the door and would insist on taking me.

I'd go, reluctantly, and I'd avoid eye contact. And I'd try to ignore all the cheering and admiration that Daniel was getting from his new friends whilst I half-heartedly accepted a dance from David.

There'd probably be one shot where we catch Daniel looking over with a slight sense of regret over what could have been, but then he'd turn and start waving his arms up and down to his new friends and they'd all enthusiastically cheer and gloat.

It will be a bitter sweet ending. The over all theme of the film will be about painful loss and change and moving on.
