At this time of year there is a certain element that amuse themselves by posting rumours that are so far fetched that they are almost believable.
This latest one is sourced to somebody who lives in the West Country and uses a nickname that leads one to think of a north western side.
Anyway, now that we have a good idea of the possibiltiy of this source being 'in the know' it is time to come to the rumour...
Apparently, Jose Mourhino was impressed with the way that Norwich turned it on at Stamford Bridge back in the days of the Premiership, despite the final scoreline of Chelsea 4, Norwich 0. He sees that some of his lesser signings would benefit from a season-long loan at Carrow Road, so he is allowing Frenchman Lassana Diarra (who is earmarked to be the next Claude Makelele) and Portuguese Nuno Morais to help Nigel Worthington out in midfield.
Then, further additions to the midfield will come in the guise of Neil Kilkenny on a free from Birmingham, and Liam Lawrence for ?1.5m from Sunderland.
It must be said that with his history of, and seeming love affair with loan signings, the possibility of loans is likely. And Nigel Worthington would be delighted to get anybody on a free, which makes the ?1.5m to Sunderland seem even more remote.
Looking back a bit, though, I see the same source was accurate when he stated that Dudley Campbell would go to Birmingham and Rob Earneshaw to City. So, perhaps it isn't all an exchange of keyboard for girlie mag...
