Head coach David Wagner says that he expects to field a changed line-up for Wednesday's visit to Fulham in the Carabao Cup third round.

City were well beaten away at Plymouth Argyle at the weekend, with Wagner highlighting the need for squad rotation following a number of injuries to first-team players and a busy fixture schedule.

"It's obvious that we have some injury problems, we're missing five senior players with (Ashley) Barnes, Grant (Hanley), Josh Sargent, Lungi (Jacob Sørensen) and Nacho (Marcelino Núñez)... and Danny Batth is cup-tied," he explains.

"We saw against Plymouth, a lot of players are playing a lot of minutes. We will make some changes, it could happen that there are some first-team debuts on Wednesday. At the minute, we are not great in terms of numbers in our squad but that doesn't mean that we don't want to do our best."

Norwich are in the third round courtesy of two 1-0 victories, against QPR and Bristol City, both away from home.

Adam Forshaw made his debut for the club against Bristol City in the second round and has featured off the bench in each of the Canaries' last two league fixtures.

"This was his first 45 minutes. He's a very, very good player, a good character as well," Wagner says.

"He is very comfortable on the ball, it was good for him to get that 45 minutes and he will help us further into the season."

He's also expecting to have Borja Sainz available, the summer signing has yet to feature for the club after picking up an ankle ligament injury in his first week.

However, he has featured in the last two Under-21s fixtures, playing a half against both Wolves and Everton.

"He is an option to be in the squad on Wednesday as well, and get some further minutes. I think this would be a good opportunity."

Norwich take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday, September 27 (KO 7.45pm).
