Our press conference ahead of Leicester City's visit to Carrow Road takes place at 5️⃣pm today 🎙
-----------------------------------------------------------
DW: "Everyone came through healthy, Lungi is back in training today, first-team training. No further news."
DW on Borja Sainz: “He will get 45-minutes with the U21s tomorrow night at Colney. Then we will go from there.”
DW on Grant Hanley: “I have a feeling he is ahead of schedule. He is desperate to be back in team training, but he is in and around the team helping the team off the pitch. We don't have a clear timeline for this kind of injury where it is so long. He's done great so far, full of energy, I see him more or less every day."
DW on Stoke: “They had lots of individual quality and when they gel they will be around the top of the table. It was great to be able to celebrate at Carrow Road with our fans again.”
DW: "We are focused on the present. We've done a lot of what we wanted to do after last season. We wanted a good transfer window, the right personalities, the right players in early, good pre-season, good games, and now have a good start as well."
DW on Carrow Road togetherness: “I always had feeling if we deliver, then the supporters will back us. This is how it should be, and the nature of the game.”
DW on first Carrow Road night game: "We are really looking forward to Wednesday, the first evening game at home, it's always special under the floodlights. It sometimes gives another percentage of energy and togetherness, hopefully we'll feel that on Wednesday."
DW on fixture schedule: “I don’t make the schedule or influence it. It’s a busy period, yes. We will make changes at points, so players who are in the squad for one game might start the next. That means every player gives their all, as they will all get used. A lot of the work you have to get across (during short turnaround) will be in the analysis rooms, the different groups will be with us in meeting rooms, strikers, defenders etc."
DW on Ben Gibson: “Duffy deserves all the credit he gets. But Gibbo was outstanding against Stoke. This was his best performance under me - it was top. I said this to him after the game and that’s the benchmark.”
DW on LCFC: “They will get promoted, this is not a secret. I’m not even sure you can bet on them to get promoted. We are looking forward to it and are excited. Our aim is to make their evening the most uncomfortable they’ve faced all season.”
DW: “It is a test against an opponent who are top all over the park. We face them quite early, but we are looking forward to this challenge. We will need everyone, and when I say everyone I mean everyone in the stadium. If we have that, we will be ok."
