I think the current England squad is sufficiently good

That a monkey with a tombola could select a winning team for 9/10 fixtures. Southgate is so lucky to be managing this lot, not some of the utterly dross generations we have had. I can’t help but think that a really great manager would have this squad annihilating teams.

Although maybe that’s bollocks and I’m just picking on Gareth, that’s the other option.
