I've never had any figures, but I remember looking at soccerbase the season we won the championship. Our biggest buys were Hucks and Flem, the rest of the team was made up from free signings + minimal transfer fees.

500k seems to be a par transfer fee for any match day squad player in teams looking to get automatic promotion (Sheffield are probably more than that on ave).

We have never invested in the first team in the championship to the same degree as many of our rivals.
