On Thursday, Benito says that he cannot estimate whether Christian Fassnacht will change or extend his contract with YB. Fassnacht is after all Benito's best friend in the team, but even the defender has no idea that the long-cherished wish of the offensive player should come true. Only when Fassnacht writes him a message late on Saturday evening that he will be absent from the season opener because he is traveling to Norwich to take the medical test, Benito dawns.

He googles Norwich City, he sees that the club plays in the second highest league in England and has a coach who knows Fassnacht from the time together at YB. It is David Wagner who celebrated his premiere in Bern two years ago, but was already fired the following spring. He has been working with the English since the beginning of the year.

The change of Fassnacht should be completed on Monday, YB agrees with Norwich City. "It fits for us, it fits for Fassnacht," says sports director Steve von Bergen. The contract of the five-time champion player would have expired next summer.
