You should have swapped with your mate before he jacked it in.

I guess that once sold for a season they cannot re-sell a ticket but if you had asked to swap before selling it would be possible to do it.

Over the years we have created a block of six simply by swapping with others who haven’t renewed or swapping over during the season and then making the physical swap at renewal time.

I guess the issue is more with your mate deciding to renew then cancel rather than the ticket office catering for whims and fancies.
