For years he's been a salesman

I have never heard him discuss a single thing in the field of science or engineering which could be described as cutting edge. He is not a genius in those fields.

In my opinion.

He has, for a time been very effective at persuading people who don't know much about science and engineering to plough large chunks of money into eye watering lay loss leading technology designed by others.

Which is a skill.

I think the genius hyberbole is useful to him, as it helps him get investment from...
