To continue the conversation from below, I was reading a few weeks back (Derek McGovern) that a game between Udinese and Sampdoria (I think) was 4/7 for the draw. ?800k had been staked with 95% of this on the draw (i'd like to meet the 5% and get their reasoning!). Anyway, the only result to ensure both sides avoided the drop was the draw and the match duly finished 1 apiece.
He referred to it (correctly imo) that we'd call it match fixing while the Italian's refer to it as a 'mutually beneficial arrangement'.
The Juve rumours have been going for years, the only suprise is that it has taken so long for them to be investigated. This is Italy we are talking about though. Perhaps Sir Alex can get his 'check under the pasta for sauce' fine refunded by Uefa.
