It applies equally in the champs.

Lets say you look at the best champ strikers and the worst.

The best will clearly have a better conversion rate per chance than the worst yet xG says all (like) chances are created equally and each striker/team has the same chance of scoring from a given chance.

That makes no sense.

It also doesn't take into account the quality of opposition goalkeeping or defending for that chance.

higher quality GKs and defenders will clearly stop/defend goals at a higher rate.

Bottom line is if you want to know how good a team is this season......look at the table not xG
