Me too. It barely resembles sport any more. The ball is in play for less than 2 thirds

of the match. Rather than rely on skill and hard work far too many players now opt for gamesmanship to try and win matches. Money has made the leagues less competitive and more stagnant. The media and therefore general public spout that football is all about the premiership and champions league.

I don’t think Sky are the problem though. It’s the fact that the premier league is a separate entity from the rest of English football, and the EFL is separate from the national league that gives us the greatest issues. All the interactions between them are basically business agreements rather than sporting ones, and it’s like putting Tesco with their nationwide power at the negotiating table with a single farmer from rural Norfolk. The more powerful will flex their muscle and bully their way to a deal that makes themselves stronger, the other weaker, and widens the gap further. It’s not sport any more.
I no expert on American sports but the draft system thingy does seem to make sporting sense
