This is down to…

No midfield!!
If ever a game showed how poor we are in midfield, this was it!!
Outthought, outmanoeuvred, outpassed,out etc, etc…
I keep banging on about the midfield players we had in 2018/19, Vrancic, Stieperman, Trybull, Leitner. Intelligent players who linked play between defence and attack.
They protected the back four (along with Tettey), picked up the ball deep, passed and moved and created for Pukki.
What of those qualities have our current midfield got?
NONE!
And don’t tell me dowell- wouldn’t have got into that midfield, or anywhere close.
Swansea were the perfect team to expose all our current weaknesses.
