had been transferred from local A&E awaiting admission, and at about 1am the staff nurse said - anyone wanting to go home and come back in the morning, I can put you on a list. About half the people trooped off, suggesting that the E bit wasn't really the case.
But in the end, it's the knock-on effect of underfunding across primary care, and until that resolves, A&E will be grim.
