yes but the PM is massively underpaid

and not really my point. As a BBC chief I wouldn't pay him that much and I wouldn't be bothered if BBC didn't carry MOTD at all.

But if they are judged on ratings then I can see why you might, and I can't think of many better anchors for MOTD/world cup coverage etc. Plenty of better value ones but they wouldn't have the same draw.
