Farke was bizarrely charismatic as well

The fans got used to quirky interesting press conferences and interviews, the way he took things seriously but not without humour and what came across as honesty (not saying he wasn’t honest, it’s just he conveyed his messages in that way).

Not to mention, the overhaul of the playing style and clear intent in our games. Coupled with the way he got the most out of what were previously unknown players (not all of them, obviously; Franke, Heise, Husband and others were best forgotten, sadly).

He was also very “modern” in the way he discussed football and the way the team played. He followed Neil, who in many ways, despite his age, was pretty old-school. It felt like we were trying to catch up a bit, which wasn’t a bad thing.
