Did he mention me in it?

In April 1976 I was on a French exchange in a town called Mont-de-Marsan. The girl I was paired up with lived in the hotel the Ian Gillan Band stayed in when they played a gig in the town. I had to do a bit of translating. (Tricky, as I’d only learned the past tense the week before I arrived).

Anyway, he was very nice (and I remember someone else called Jon Gustafson? being nice too) and we were given tickets to the gig. It was quite loud. I wore my best Laura Ashley long frock which turned out to be a bit of a faux pas.
