They do have a VAR and Assistant VAR referee for each game…

…best thing they could do for VAR right now (other than scrap it) is open up the mics and have the referees asking simple questions to answer (‘is there any reason I shouldn’t give…’ etc).

I’d also like to see a tennis/NFL hybrid approach to it - every team gets two appeals/flags, and if you’ve called one and it’s wrong you lose one of them. It’d be great if goals weren’t checked as they are now (we’ve lost the buzz of scoring) and only were if a flag went out, but that might be a step too far just yet.
