"Sturgeon has put back the cause of Scottish independence by decades"

At the last General Election before her appointment (2010) the SNP polled 19.9% of the vote in Scotland. In 2019 it was 45%.

In 2010 the Scottish Social Attutudes Survey showed that 23% of Scots wanted independence. In 2021 it was 52%.
