The issue with signing cheap (or even expensive) nobodies from Europe and the Americas (at least unknown in the English football world) is that they will have to really stand out to gain any saleable value.
I think that's indeed an issue and we may currently be stuck with half a squad of Naismith - not in the sense of his attitude but in the sense that they cost us a lot of money, are being paid a huge wage and nobody wants to pay money for them.
Slightly different as he was domestic - but f**k me - Jordan Hugill. How did we honestly look at that player and think that we would make a profit on him at 5m? FIVE MILLION POUNDS. I presume that we didn't expect him to produce a gazillion goals given what we must have seen on film.
