And incredibly, James Maddison got loaned out although won't criticise that as maybe we wouldn't have had the 17/18 Maddison if we hadn't loan him out the season before.

However, if you want to make a valid point about Webber, then I think there is one to be made with the above squad. For all the vaunted whole team development starting at the academy, that squad had a lot of young talent in it (of course they didn't all make it) - Godfrey, Thompson, Murphy * 2, Morris, Maddison, Rudd and Pritchard.

I think for all the shouting about the academy, I won't say we are in a worse position than we were then but even being optimistic about the likes of Mumba, Rowe, Gibbs and Omobamidele, we aren't significantly better off on that front are we?
