Personally, after playing Krul in the cup game

I would have then brought Gunn back vs PNE.

Krul got to showcase his talents in four first-team games (being unimpressive in two of them) while Gunn got a single reserve outing.

Having competition for places is not really the same as dropping someone only after gifting the oppo a goal.
