Can you really see car's being all electric?

As I mentioned I live in Sweden which is probably the world leader in this area. There are some electric car charging points around. But getting everyone of petrol cars and onto electric i cannot see happening for years and years. The infrastructure is just not there. The UK is lagging even further behind.
