I dont get why it was "sticking his nose in"?

He's the head of an organisation at the centre of this, and clarified an important point. You don't get penalties if you make a bit of a mess of your tax return. You do if it's plain you were trying to get away with one. Based on what has been reported, a multi million pound dodge that even tax experts without access to the detail could see was coming. I would say he was clarifying facts about something important where he is a key authority?
