It’ll always be the Ricoh to me.

Currently at the snappily named Coventry Building Society Arena. Stayed overnight at the hotel in the stadium for £52,bargain. As a stadium design it’s rather nice, very neat and straightforward. Transport links are good having its own rail station and dual carriageways straight up to the motorway. There’s a big Longwater-style retail park next door. But that seems to be about it! I’m meeting a mate beforehand who is a Coventry fan and hates the place due to lack of atmosphere.
Some of the hotel rooms convert into boxes for the match. It’s interesting watching the hordes of staff arriving and the whole set up taking place, one can’t upset B&R Heating and Plumbing Solutions can one? Got to have their mini burgers ready for half time.
I think we’re lucky in that FCR is where it is and will never move to further out of town location, however we’ve got to do something with the City Stand when funds permit.
