It is worth more.... You will need to search for the videos, but the basic premises is

everytime you use a card some organisation takes a percentage from it. By the time a £50 card has been passed around say 8 times it is only worth abt £30. £50 cash though remains at all times £50 cash.

I'm not great at explaining it, but a search on the Internet should bring it up. It's interesting.
