Our head coach's press conference for this weekend's meeting with Coventry will take place at 4pm today.
------------------------------------------------------------
DW: "Ben (Gibson) trained this week, most of the training, not all of the sessions. He's in a good place, I have no concerns for after Coventry but he won't be in the squad for Saturday."
DW on Preston: "I saw a good game, but it was only one game. I felt relief after four or five weeks without a win. The lads needed it."
DW: "We were the ones who were aggressive, showed the intensity and the energy that are crucial in our game. This is what I expect."
DW: “I felt they are very open minded. They have taken everything on board that I’ve wanted. They still keep their hunger and desire. I felt we really wanted it (at Preston).”
DW: "We have more than 2,500 away supporters on Saturday again, and the energy they provide us, I hope our performance is on that level again."
DW: "What the supporters have shown so far is incredible. I'm glad the players have been able to pay it back with the last result. This can only be the start."
DW: “We want to make the supporters proud of us. I can’t guarantee a result, but we will do everything we can to win every game.”
DW: “They are a top team and a footballing team. We highly respect them, but we want to win this game. We must be focused on our performance and win the battles.”
DW: (On Sara and Nunez) “I can say these are two wonderful characters who always have a smile on their place. Everybody in this place loves them. Now after 6 months they have adapted very well. The temperature is not what they are used too, but they wear gloves'.
DW: “We gave Todd (Cantwell) time to decide his future. Nothing is agreed yet, but it’s moving.”
DW on JT loan: "Do we have enough cover for this position? I think we have. This is why we made the decision. For Jonathan, it will be great to get some game time and fight for promotion. I've seen enough in the Academy to know they can help us out."
DW: “Jon Tomkinson was keen on a loan and we are covered in this position. Tong Springett will hopefully get minutes and gain promotion at Derby.”
DW: “I’m still assessing the squad. Now we don’t have the game against Birmingham next Saturday, I now have time to speak to the recruitment team next week. We have all doors still open.”
DW: (On Sir Teemu of Pukki) “He is an interesting guy. He is such a calm character and has humour. He has an unbelievable football brain. He is a top class striker.”
