He did express them, repeatedly.

He was warned that they weren’t consistent with the party nor the majority of his constituents, so the whip was removed. Not only that, his lobbying and disinformation would have been taken into account. His views haven’t been disagreed with because they’re not mainstream, but because they’re accepted as largely incorrect. He’s not called for debate, he’s been spreading lies, basically.
