Because the more clicks it gets the more views it gets and thereby appears more

trustworthy to the knobs who are likely to believe it, although bizarrely refuse to believe anything backup up by the scientific community because it’s fake news, a cover up, or sinister.

I find it odd that people are so desperate these days to believe in the worst scenarios.
