New Nodge initiative....

Norwich City are pleased to announce a new charity scheme that will allow season ticket holders the opportunity to donate their ticket for any fixtures that they may be unable to attend.

This initiative will run alongside the club’s existing buy-back scheme with supporters now having the option of donating their ticket to the Norfolk Community Foundation.

Tickets are then distributed through their Nourishing Norfolk network which we have already seen in action with tickets distributed by the club through nine of the charity’s food hubs for the Blackburn Rovers and Reading fixtures in December, as part of the EFL’s ‘Together – Supporting Communities’ campaign.

Working alongside the Canaries Trust, the club are now pleased to permanently implement this as an option for season ticket holders going forward.

Norfolk Community Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to building stronger communities and improving the lives of people in Norfolk. The charity builds funding and support that ensures local charities and voluntary groups can continue and grow, providing essential care, support and opportunities for the most vulnerable in our communities.

Nourishing Norfolk is Norfolk Community Foundation’s initiative to tackle food insecurity by helping local charities expand their offer to include food hubs, providing people with affordable, accessible and healthy food, ensuring that no one in Norfolk goes hungry.

Season Ticket holders can now opt to donate their ticket to charity using the steps HERE.

Norwich City executive director Zoe Webber said: “We are delighted to be working with Nourishing Norfolk, through the Norfolk Community Foundation, and the Canaries Trust to be able to offer this ticket donation scheme.

“Almost 1,500 people have already attended games this season through tickets donated by the club, for many of whom it was a first experience of Carrow Road. When the Canaries Trust suggested that supporters may like to donate tickets too, we were delighted to be able to facilitate this as an alternative to the buy-back scheme.

“As a football club, Norwich City strive to continue supporting our community through the work of our Foundation and by collaborating on initiatives such as this one.”

Robin Sainty, chairman of the Canaries Trust, commented: "After putting forward our initial suggestion of finding a way to help people who are struggling to be able to afford tickets, we are extremely grateful to the club for coming up with this scheme, which reflects both parties’ commitment to the local community."

Claire Cullens, chief executive of Norfolk Community Foundation, told canaries.co.uk: “We are enormously grateful to Norwich City for their continued support to local communities, giving the opportunity for individuals being supported by charities and community groups across the county to attend a match at Carrow Road.

“With the cost of living crisis and increasing financial pressures, many will be able to experience the thrill and excitement of watching a match in-person for the very first time. We know the value of connecting individuals and businesses with local charities and are delighted to be working with Norwich City to help provide opportunities that will make a real difference.”

The ‘Together – Supporting Communities’ campaign is designed to support communities and fans of the 72 league clubs during the cost of living crisis.

The scheme will see EFL Clubs provide community services and matchday offers to help people in challenging economic times and will contribute towards the Government’s ‘Help for Households’ initiative.
