Yes, he is clearly disconnected from reality but so is everyone who comes from that world.
You could level all that stuff at any of the Royal family.

He gets cut off financially so what is he supposed to do?
Work at Burger King?
The easiest way to earn a ton of cash quickly is to write a juicy book and get Netflix to pay a huge sum for a documentary.
If he takes the fat cash and stays out of the limelight it would have been worth it.

The people they trot out on TV to bash him have a huge agenda to defend the journos and the institution.
He feels the press hounded his Mum to death. That's kind of understandable.
