As you say, Gunn was poor, in my view Hamilton (and probably Roeder) were toxic.
He's none of those.
That said, I think having become a (moderately) successful Prem manager, I do wonder if he didn't put the efforts in here that he did at Brentford and Villa.
There's a fine balance, and a looser approach than under Farke may have worked, but there always felt like a lack of urgency about his time with us.
Don't dislike him, or even blame him. I think he tried, but misjudged what was needed.
