My problem is simply that...

...we were the ones who took the chance on Dean Ashton. He had a great Champ record and we took the chance bringing him up the division and earning him the spotlight he needed to get into the Premiership.

Now I appreciate people are ambitious and want to better themselves; but frankly when you declare you want to leave (which he all but did after MK Dons in October no less than three weeks after he signed a new contract!) and THEN go on to do a half arsed job to try and secure that move, then that's a blatent lack of professionalism.

The proof is in the pudding; you can't deny that the only time after MK Dons that Ashton really turned it on was against the big name teams, teams which good performances against would earn him a few earnest glances. Sheffield Utd - league leaders - and Southampton - former Premiership regulars - are the two that leap to mind.

I don't give a monkeys who or what he had to work with; in football you work on yourself first, then you have the right to moan about others.

When Ashton left and Earnie came and settled, we started getting some results. Now I know that's not solely down to Ashton, but we do look a much more potent side without a half-arsed Ashton.
