Plenty of managers have long winless runs

You can put a positive / negative slant on any candidate; even Klopp or Guardiola you could find flaws with. And nothing guarantees success, certainly not prior performance, even if it’s an indicator. Some are better than others, obviously, but who was to know how successful Lambert would be and then how awful elsewhere?
